Wages still a concern for Idaho educators

  • According to a news report out of Wyoming, Idaho’s teachers are taking flight to Wyoming in search of higher pay. But, “dozens of public school teachers are leaving Idaho” even though the exact number of Idaho teachers coming to Wyoming isn't known, but most of "those coming here say that they're drawn by the bigger paychecks.”
That may be true: Average teacher pay in Wyoming last is more than $53,500. The average teacher pay in Idaho is at just over $40,000.

  • Micron Technology Foundation, Inc. has honored Idaho high school seniors Laura Coulter and Aaron Smith with $25,000 each in scholarships as a part of the Micron Science and Technology Scholars program. Coulter attends Bishop Kelly High School and Smith attends Fruitland High School.
