A foreman for a bean production plant was seriously injured after his left hand was pulled into a bean sorting machine. The Twin Falls County sheriff's office says 46-year-old Albert Castro was flown by air ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center on Monday. The ADM-Edible Bean Specialties plant was shut down after the accident, reported in the Times-News.

Department spokeswoman Lori Nebeker says the bean sorter was making a squealing noise and Castro was trying to put a dressing on the belt when his hand got caught.

Plant manager Jason Meyers could not immediately be reached for comment.
