Idaho Falls Festival of Trees is Coming to Town
For the past 42 years, the Festival of Trees has been held in Idaho Falls.
The Festival of Trees is a fundraising event that enables locals to decorate and provide festive trees in a fun Christmas atmosphere. All proceeds from the event benefit the Development Workshop Inc., a non-profit organization that helps the disabled develop necessary life and job skills. The donations from the event help mainly with scholarships that are available to those in need of services who have no way to pay for them.
Each tree that is donated is also available for purchase at the auction. Each tree is uniquely decorated and themed. This year’s theme is “A Season to Remember.”
The Festival of Trees will be held at the Pinecrest Event Center on 560 E. Anderson Street in Idaho Falls. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children (ages 11 to 17), $2 for children (ages 3 to 10) and $3 for seniors. Children under 3 receive free admission. Tickets may be purchased at the event.
The festival includes more than just Christmas trees. There will also be a raffle with about 30 baskets that were donated by local businesses. Vendors and craft items will also be available. There will also be food and entertainment. Last year the festival raised $79,000 in donations. More information about this event is available at www.dwinc.org/festival-of-trees.
